Federal baby law specifically prohibits car seats on motorcycles.

Really? I didn't know that?

Okay, maybe not FEDERAL. But the car seat law of Arizona says the car seat has to be firmly installed and there's no good way to do that on a motorcycle.

Besides, I'm not really a Harley kind of girl. I drive a Buick.

Okay, that's a little too "Sport" for my taste. I'm more on the side of "Luxury" utility vehicle.

So can a Cadillac SRX. Another car I won't be buying if Barry takes over GM.

For some reason, your page hasn't let me comment in ages. Let's see if this goes through ...

I love compact sedans, but in terms of a full-size, I suspect GM will keep making them. Don't you?

Hmm. That's odd. I don't think anyone else has had that problem.

If the government takes control of GM, I fully expect that the only car they'll be making will be the Volt. Because THAT is a car that people want to buy. Or so we've been told.

However, even if they DO keep building the cars that I want to buy (I am not "people"), I will not buy them from a government-controlled GM. Which is very sad, because I've never owned a car that WASN'T GM.

Hmm, can't scroll down far enough to comment on my comment, so I'll write here again... stupid LJ.

Anyway, you should reconsider buying a GM, regardless of whether the gov't takes it over temporarily. It might be the push the rather silly bosses and unions to actually change, instead of saying they will.

By the way, I'd buy a Volt, if it were sporty enough. I always drove Fords - and yes, I grew up in a Chevy family - but my latest is a Mazda that I LOVE.

Well, I'm not going to be in the market for a new car for quite some time, anyway. But I've always bought GM because my dad was a 43-year lifer there, my father-in-law was 25 years, and my hubby and I met while WE were working there.

Doesn't Ford own Mazda?

I wouldn't buy a Volt - not enough range.

I didn't know you worked at GM! Was this up in Ohio?

And yeah, Ford owns a stake in Mazda, so I felt OK buying it. Plus, I really liked the car. Sadly, Ford and Chevy both weren't making the fun compacts and Mazda was, so it was an easy choice in that regard.

My first car was a Tempo. God, I loved that thing. it looked and ran great. In hindsight, after the idiot 15-year-old without a license hit me head on and totaled, it, I should have just paid for the repairs...

Yep - Lordstown.

Joe bought a fun Ford compact, but it was an expensive one. GM actually is building them now - the Solstice (which will go the way of Pontiac) and the Sky (which will go the way of Saturn and then there won't be any anymore), but you're right - there was a long period without them.

This is a bad day all around.
