You know those "Whopper Virgin" commercials? They actually had a discussion on FoxNews about them yesterday - including the VP of Marketing for BK and some random woman who didn't like the ads (I think she was from some official organization, but I can't be arsed to look it up). Ah, this is something that really annoys me about news. Instead of getting something that most could agree is actual news, or even something that most could agree is worth discussing, the people who put the news items together simply take the latest rant they've recieved from some single-issue pressure group and turn it into a story. There's so much non-journalism these days. It's just reading out press releases, or getting the person who sent the press release to come on air in some pointless "debate" with a representative of whoever they think the "other side" might be.

It's so lazy, and it will end up buggering everything up because it takes away the possibility of thinking that there's any value to discernment when dealing with issues. It doesn't matter if one's on the left, the right or in the middle, politically - anyone with a smidgen of sense has to see that this laziness is going to have some bad effects.

Argh!

I'd respond with a pointer to the information that shows early humans were basically a lot like their ape cousins until they learned how to hunt and obtain a high protein diet.
