S-Bahn in D.C.!

You guys! D.C. is getting an S-Bahn!!! I went out to see Emmet Otter's Jugband Christmas with my Munich roommate tonight* and she mentioned the fact that D.C.'s new streetcars look exactly like the S-Bahn. Oh man, you totally have to audition to be the voice of D.C. transit! Maybe they will also let you record additional warnings about not letting small children play on the escalators, and coughing into your elbow.

Did you make it on a flight yesterday, or was yours one of the 110 that got canceled? I hope by the time you read this you're safe and sound back in CA!

Not only does the German lady have a much more pleasant-sounding voice, but also they record things in such a way that they actually sound like real sentences! None of this chopped up crap we have.

I wonder how one hears about transit voice auditions?

I switched my flight to Friday! I packed my bag in 15 minutes and the only thing I'm missing (so far) is my phone charger, but my stepdad has the same phone so it's okay. Evidently the flight I would have been on still made it out on Saturday, but there's no way I would have been able to get to the airport, so I'm glad I switched! Although I am also sad that I am missing the Snowpocalypse.
