akljasjhgdjsgfa the gorgeous view from your apaaaaartment that is spacious and clean and well-lit and I love it very much. (Mostly because it has you in it. But the view is definitely one of the top five reasons.) Any chance that your (awesome)flatmate will be vacating it some time next summer/early fall? :D :D :D
Do space shuttle passengers count as aviators? Shamefully, the only current astronaut I can name off the top of my head is Tracy Caldwell (three guesses why I remembered her name), the physicist-astronaut who was Mission Specialist #1 on the Endeavor's 2007 flight. According to Wikipedia, she's also quite athletic, and the lead singer in a band, besides. Pretty awesome! (Also, I wonder how all that long hair works in space?)
It is so much fun watching the seasons change through the windows!!
Flatmate has changed his plans slightly so he will now be graduating sometime in the summer. The lease is up August 1st, and I shall try to think of a subtle way to ask if he has plans for leaving me. :>
Space Shuttle passengers are not aviators, but you do still get points for knowing a space explorer type person! ♥ My favourite astronaut is Hans Schlegel, because he was utterly adorable when he was at the NASM over the summer. He'd just got back from a brief mission to the ISS and he was very into the internationality of it, which is my favourite aspect, too. :D
(Oh, for long hair, they have to wear it tied back. Otherwise it floats all over and gets in the way. They have someone's scrunchie (with a few strands of hair, even!) in the NASM artifacts collection.)
