Happy Tax Day, flist!

No? Well, in honour of the day, let me recommend to you one of the best movies you likely haven't seen: You Can't Take It With You.This movie won Best Picture for 1938, but I'd never heard of it until my mum told me I had to see it a couple months back (after she, in turn, had discovered it on TCM). I'll have to add that movie to my Netflix queue! That poem definitely made me happy, too. It's kind of chilly on this side of the city, but there are plenty of other things to make me happy. In fact, I find it hard to be truly sad these days, even when I get stressed about jobs. Life is good ^_^

Yes! Even if life is good, You Can't Take It With You will make life even better because it is that awesome. :D

I was going to make a wanky post about taxes and how I had to file three forms (feds + 2 states) and how I'm stupid and bitter because of that, but it was too nice a day for wankyness. So I made a happy post instead. :)

What a post of good things! I love, love, love You Can't Take It With You. Doing the Big Apple, Jimmy Stewart's wacky idea about harnessing photosynthetic energy, the crazy Russian guy, Lionel Barrymore making it impossible to believe he could also be Mr. Potter -- all in all one of the greatest comedies ever. Frank Capra is hard to beat. You've seen Mr. Deeds Goes to Town? It Happened One Night?

There's someone around here icons YCTIWY periodically, let me check... aha!.

P.S. aw, my fav poem :)

And the cool little gizmos Mr Poppins makes! And the fireworks! And the tax man! It overflows with awesomeness. It is definitely one of the best movies ever. :D

I have not seen those other movies! I must remedy this post-haste!

Dude, I'm thinking a classic comedy marathon is in order.

Oh, that sounds scrumptious, but I don't think I'll have time for a marathon of anything until I'm done with finals. I'm in the final stretch now, which means work work work! until mid-May. :(
