Hey hope the part-time thing goes well for you, which means more paintings of yours for me to drool over! :-D And still keeping fingers crossed regarding your husband's orders staying in delete mode.
I thought of you today when I discovered a black widow spider in my yard...actually it was at the bottom of the door to my screened porch behind a cinder block I used to keep the cats from pushing the door open. Scared the shit out of me when I moved that cinder block! Yes, it reminded me of you because of some spider picture you posted a while back. The dogs were outside with me and became interested in what I was jabbing with a big long pole. Although I think she was already deceased before I started jabbing, as she never moved. But, can't risk one of the dogs or cats getting bitten by that bad girl.
Anyway, my excitement for the day, and the catalyst for the new grey hairs that have sprouted on my head.....

I can't believe you killed it, or at least jabbed at it. Gahhh... Tsk. Tsk. Tsk.
I have a few in my studio, I let them stay...because they kill scorpions, better then any exterminator can. They are in the areas of the studio that no one (fur or non fur) will disturb. So they hang out, do their thing, and I leave them alone. Every once in a while, I have to sweep around 'their area', because to many dead scorpions pile up.
I'd rather have the black widows, hanging out...in a spot that is completely out of the way, then a bunch of scorpions running around all over the studio. Eeewwww.

lol, I knew I'd get in trouble for that. No, usually I am a live and let live type of person, but, this gal was right at the bottom of the door, where little paws could get at her (there's a pretty good gap under the screened porch door), or a dog nose, quite easily, so....sorry ms. Black Widow. :-/
Oh man! Scorpions?? Ok, really freaking out here now...LOL

Yeah, scorpions. It's sucks. But it's a lot better then when we first moved in. It was really bad then, like finding them in the bathroom, in the middle of the night bad...YIKES!
We have a gap under our screen door too, it's where all the little pipsqueak toads hang out, and wait for me to open the door...so they can jump into the house.
Nothing sucks quite like holding pattern sucks. Fingers crossed for all of us.
Oreos... a thought. Actually I am gonna have to detox from sugar for a while. I'm moved into the temp digs and have no more excuses. I have my fun chasing Mr. Diabetes but really don't want to catch him.

You can easily sneak a few, here and there...when Mr. Diabetes isn't looking.
