Divine is MADE of awesome, there's really not much I could do to make him anything less than that. Especially with the gloves. (Maybe I should have made the pairing "gloves/aki".) I wrote most of this in my head after Saturday. ^^;;;;;

Ich glaub, das ging mir ähnlich. Ich hab gedacht "wie... das kann's doch jetzt nicht gewesen sein!?" und hab dann gesehn, dass es das auch nicht war, weil es ja eine Reihe ist. ^^x Aber große Höhepunkte darf man zumindest vom Plot in diesen Büchern nicht verlangen.

Also die Fallstudie von Anna und mir zeigt eine zumindest sehr, öhm... appreciative? reaction bei 100% der Testsubjekte. Ob die Reaktion allerdings so extrem ausfällt wie bei Aki da oben... tjah. An den Handschuhen würde es jedenfalls nicht scheitern! XD Wenn sie also so in character ist wie dein Divine...

Your het skills surprise me. Not because you write such an awesome Divaki scene with focus on said way-too-hot gloves -
but because of including the comparison with Yusei in such an enjoyable way.
I liked that part very much, as there where a lot of true thoughts included. Loved the machine comparison! <3

I used to never re-read my exams before handing them in at school... I do it now for essays and fanfiction and EVERY frickin time you read something NEW MISTAKES pop up. I swear they weren't there the last time I read it. o_Ox

I agree whole heartedly. And in an anime like YGO (5D's), decent clothing with *style* (that one could actually wear out on the street) are a rare sight.
The white tie alone~ and, well, the gloves. The gloves. *swoons*

On a side note, I hate it when I become fascinated with a character that fandom tends to ignore. Pity that; I thought Divine was pretty swanky.

Ignore? If only that were true. *sigh* He's become the boogey man of Yusei/Aki fanfiction, the fans of which tend to make him the absolute bad guy to Yusei's shining knight and bash him left and right. >_It's a sad thing really, for a fascinating character like him to be neglected and rejected like that. Whether or not one ships Divine/Aki, he has so much potential. I'm not saying he's a good guy, because he's not, but neither is he a raping madman with the sole purpose of making Aki unhappy. oÔx

I guess the reason I think of Divine as being relatively 'ignored' is because I tend to disregard badly written fanfiction.

Oh, same here, but "lucky me", I have friends who supply me with enough proof of Divine hatred to last a lifetime or two. >_<;;

He's a shade of grey on the morality spectrum. Making him purely evil robs him of humanity and prevents readers from connecting with the character or finding him at all interesting. Flat characters are useless.

Very much agreed. I don't mind the fact that people want to portrait him as the antagonist, because if you're in his way he makes a fearful enemy, of that I'm sure. But he's not simply evil, and people who need characters like that for their stories (or world view) aren't worth our time. Divine deserves better than that.
