Highest Praise

I love reading, and most of all I enjoy slash/yaoi/gay literature of any kind.
And sometimes, among the vast amounts of stuff I read, there's a piece, a phrase, a sentence, something that makes me tingle, somewhere in my stomach. It means whatever I just read struck a nerve in all the right ways. Which is actually my second highest praise; the ( Read more... )

I love to draw. When I'm sketching something and it can get so frustrating because it's JUST. NOT. COMING. OUT. RIGHT. --- but then... when it finally does!!!!! The feeling is REALLY nice. It's down right amazing. I may not be a very good artist, millions of people will always be better than me, but when something I draw just WORKS in my own little personal style of drawing... it's so blissful. And then I'll go back and look at that drawing later and it'll just make me smile. It's a good lasting feeling of accomplishment.

What are some of your favorite quotes?

I know what you mean! You got a picture in your head and it's SO hard to get it on paper; but when it works out, it's the greatest thing ever. :)

Hm, fav quotes... one would be the one on the left in this journal, "We would be safe, because Edward was here.". It probably won't cause the tingle feeling out of context and for anyone else, but me, I'm back at that part of the book, and I know that the room was full of powerful beings and Edward was "only" a human (and a skilled assassin at that), but to Anita (the protagonist) he's reliability in a way she can relate to (it has a gun).

From Mists Of Avalon:
...; but as the first rays of the sun arose, she put back the hood, and at that moment, touched by the first sunlightm the enchantment slid off Kevin's face, and Morgaine saw startled comprehension some into his eyes, he knew where he was and what had happened.
I can't really say why this part got to me so much, but it did.

And I could quote my way through almost any page of the daviations series, these books really got to me. Like ( ... )

Omg, this sometimes happens to me when I watch a film. Exactly this 'tingle'-feeling. And then I have to grin and go buy the film afterwards (it's even better if I bought the film and then it proves that what I chose is really *that* good). It also sometimes happens while reading, but not as often and I remember just that one time where it happened more than once in one book.

I read more books than I watch movies, but of course this feeling isn't limited to one medium. Sometimes I movie will make me shiver in that right way, too. :)
