I agree. Love it? Read it? Don't love it? Bugger off! And yes, fandom is a wonderful place to meet other super duper crazy fans who squee and flail as much as you do. :D

And fandom is totally great, and only after posting the comment did I realize the question was on fanFICTION. My choice-y dyslexia strikes again!
But fanfiction is awesome in the same sense. And I find it a great way to hone skills and put your ideas out into the internet/world!
