He said that he was attempting to open gateways to two worlds; the one he is from, and the one that Rhode is from. He wouldn't tell me why.

Importantly, he also revealed that it appeared to be working, and likely would have if not interrupted.

Enough. There have been multiple attempts at entering the Inner City, though none have been particularly successful. Those venturing there are met with many obstacles, and there is the risk of insanity, as you mentioned. I've heard differing information on whether there is a chance of it becoming permanent or not, though it seems there is an agreement on risk of being affected temporarily.
