It was the nighttime when things really got boring. Not that the island was bustling with things to do to begin with usually, but there were only a few buildings to be cooped up in besides his hut. "What's a guy like you doing in a place like this?" Lily asked when she sidled up beside Jeff, a drink of her own in her hand and doing her very best to keep a straight face. The Hub was one of the many places on the island Lily really enjoyed and it was nice to see a familiar face in the small crowd. Especially a good looking face like Jeff's.

She wasn't drunk -- not even close -- but the small bit of alcohol she'd had was working its way through her, making her feel a little warm and a little flushed. It was a good night, as most of them were, and she finally gave Jeff a grin, letting her straight face break.

"Oh, you know. Having a drink, enjoying the scenery," he replied with a similar grin, Suddenly this night got a little more interesting. Taking another sip of his own glass, he added, "Apparently this is the island special."

"Is it now?" she asked in return, taking the seat beside Jeff and resting her drink on the edge of the bar, looking at the one he had in his hand instead. "So what, exactly, is in an island special? I've never had one myself, but maybe it's because I haven't been here long enough. Is it any better than this fruit wine I've taken my chances with?"

The wine wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't something she would have normally picked back home.

"I'm pretty sure it's all the same, actually. Nothing close to what we get during those parties, that's for sure. It's too bad all of that just disappears," he lamented. Not that the stuff here was bad, but his point remained. Nodding toward her own glass, he asked, "How's the wine?"
