I'm not tired, but I've got cranky coming outta the wazoo.jeanneeJune 24 2009, 21:36:58 UTC
I'd been saying how school was stressing me out and how I'd like a nice vacation from it, but I'm going more than a bit stir crazy without having school to focus on this summer. It's true I have a lot of free time, but honestly, since I live with my parents, that mostly means that my mom thinks I have a lot of free time to do whatever it is she wants to do. And then I just get frustrated and crankier than I had been, which seems to be nearly impossibly to add to 'cause I'm cranky as all get out lately. No one my age should be living at home and be so involved in the goings-on of the things that happen with everyone else in the house. Mostly, I'm just depressed about thinking of having to add on time before I graduate, because I AM SO READY TO BE DONE. Last night, I had a dream about the fella I was totally hoping to play with a month or two ago, but who I know now is NOT INTERESTED (or at least not enough to do anything about it, more correctly). I thought I was doing so well... I hadn't had a dream about him in at least three
( ... )
Looking for a job and seeing the sum of me on a piece of paper is probably the single most depressing and demotivating experience of my life.
I put up my resume on Workopolis as well as my school's site, and then just sent in applications to random jobs once. I got a big fat nothing out of it, but it made job searching totally emotionally easy, because I never had to look at my resume again.
Ironically, several years - we're talking like 4 years - after I posted my resume, I started getting phone calls, about 1x per month, of recruiters offering me jobs because they had seen my resume on Workopolis. I'd already gone back to school in a different field by then so I took none of these offers, but you know ... maybe the service is worth trying now?
Cuts in the mouth are the worst. Especially if you're like me, and can't help sticking your tongue in them to see how they're doing, over and over again ...
