Pretty Colours and Origfic 3SFs

May 17, 2013 20:45

I'm probably going to be posting a lot about my adventures in origfic over the next few months. Come July, I'm going to participate in Camp Nanowrimo once again and this time I am actually determined to finish with a decent (and complete) first draft of a story that I have been working on for the past three years. (Not a solid three years, but that ( Read more... )

The outline is enormously pretty! I can't read a word of it, but I guess that doesn't affect the colour-scheme, so all's well. :) You inspire me, and I will take my exceedingly scruffy note-book,and try to emulate, as far as thinking ahead goes. (though I like the idea of colours, and I've just given some crayons to the six-year-old downstairs for his birthday, so maybe I can borrow them back...?)

Cutting a character is also very impressive; well done, and nothing is ever wasted.

I've read the three-sentences fics, and will be looking to see them all in situ, when the time comes! :)

Whee, thanks! Yeah, I made the pic small on purpose - more to demonstrate the pretty and how wonderfully long and, uh, zig-zaggy it is than the actual words. I have a feeling there are a lot of changes to come, plus some sections still need a lot of fleshing out (primarily the last third).

And hurrah for inspiration! What I did was choose a colour to represent the each of the main characters (red, blue, and green). And then when they're together, it turns purple. Um, usually. Not always. That was kind of the general rule, even though it didn't always stick that way - but at least it makes sense to me, which I suppose is the point! :P

I'm glad you liked the 3SFs! It's a surprisingly wonderful way to develop characters - I use it all the time with Jay for our collabfics and it works beautifully.
