Sure, it's not an uncommon occurrence. Like the other commenters, it happens most often with the people I'm closest to, but that might be because I talk to them most often and/or because we're in sync with our expectations of contact.
Yes, and it happens frequently. I'd say it happens at least half the time I speak with my cousin, maybe a third of the time with my husband, maybe a third of the time with my biomother, between a third and half the time with my adoptive mother, and maybe a quarter of the time with my adoptive father. And maybe a quarter of the time with my closest friends.
Only with close friends, usually. Adam & I have a hard time getting through to each other regularly because we try to call at the same time. After going weeks without talking. It's more than coincidence by a long shot. It's probably even scientifically explainable...or will be.
