Nana!

The Nana movie is being released in America ON MY BIRTHDAY. YAY NANA. Also, Mibu Gishi Den, one of my favorite Japanese films of all time, is also available on American DVD now. Which is awesome, since my stupid Japanese ps2 broke and I can no longer watch my Japanese movies....

I gave my friend my big ol' Japanese PS2 to sell but I don't know if she has yet I can ask for you if you'd like.

Sorry, just standard black. But I got it fixed while we were at Gaidai and I haven't had problems with it since so it should be ok. Just let me know.

Yeah if you still have it, I would be interested. How much did you want for it?

miss you! I just saw Grave of the Fireflies for the first time ever (one of the most depressing and beautiful films I've ever seen). After watching that and Spirited Away I might be obsessed with certain types of Japanese anime films. Got any suggestions that are along these lines and not terribly hard to find in the U.S.?

Amazingly, I've never seen Grave of the Fireflies, although I am familiar with it and really need to watch it. As for other films...anything directed by Miyazaki tends to be good - Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle and two favorites of mine. And yess, miss you too! Where are you at now??

I haven't watched it either because I hate sad movies. However, I also really want to see it.

I second the vote for Studio Ghibli films.
