Oh my goodness, bartending requires knowing so many drinks.

I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I have started taking bartending classes as of today. My parents are paying for it for my sister and myself on the condition that we do well and study for two hours a day, and possibly the premise that it'll be easier to pay them back what we already ( Read more... )

You could take a class in it too! And I will be totally happy to give you recipes. ♥

What's your favorite rum? The part I've had the most trouble with so far is remembering what type of spirit every brand falls under. At this moment all I can remember of rum is Bacardi, Captain Morgan, and the well rum which is the cheap stuff.

Well I like you starting bartending school. Clearly I should be there to study with...though I am not certain how much studying you and I REALLY got done. However I leave you with one thing WIGGLY UTERUS. If we can to do you can do this. *huggles*

I'm actually doing pretty well with the studying! Not being actively depressed makes a huge difference, apparently?

Dude, I was looking over the list of drinks my sister had to know for her bartending license and it was crazy. My favorite was the screwball with sloe gin and Southern Comfort: a Slow Comfortable Screw. :P

*screwball = screwdriver?

But yes, it's also my favorite so far for that reason. ^^ A Hawaiian Punch is a Slow Comfortable Screw with pineapple juice added!

And there are bunches of others that have little things that make them easier to remember, like it seems like anything with kahlua gets milk added as the mixer, and if something with kahlua and milk also gets another alcohol, it will inevitably be baileys. It's all weirdly interesting.

That's pretty cool, actually. I probably wouldn't go into it myself, not being the drinking type, but learning to bartend is a pretty cool job. I bet you get a lot of good stories out of it.

I'm not really the drinking type, because of my meds I was told to only drink once a month at the most, but it's kind of similar to Starbucks and should pay much better, and yes, I will likely get good stories.
