*hugs* I'm so sorry. I've only been following this vaguely (RL is insanely mind-numbing at the moment...) but I did think about you and the other people I know in India. You've all been in my thoughts.
Thank you for your thoughts. It's been a gloony few days to wtahc this going on and just praying for it to get over:o It's been worse for people who live there, but then most of us in India have either stayed in or have someone close staying in Mumbai, and that part of the city is a core business centre. It's been crazy watching it. I've walked around there countless times myself:(
That reminds me of how a lot of Americans not from New York or DC felt after the 9/11 attacks. I didn't know anyone in New York, had only been there once or twice, and while I thought it was a cool city I didn't feel any more attached to it than (say) Boston or Atlanta. But those attacks made me feel strangely violated and very vulnerable for several days over.
And 9/11 was like an explosion - very destructive, but over quickly. You weren't so lucky. I can only imagine how much harder that would have made me.
I'm glad it's over for you and all your compatriots, too.
It's been horrible, hasn't it? We've been pretty much glued to the television the entire time. It's just so hard to get used to the idea that this happened in India...in Mumbai of all places.
I have a feeling that people there, and indeed all over India, must be pretty angry right now. :(
angry yes, but thankfully not in the madness inducing way. I think it's more of a forceful kind of anger. They're really pissed with the politicians for sure. And there's a general sense of anger against the neighbour.
