Heeheehee your conclusion is correct! It's interesting, though... when I'm sleeping alone (as I have done for the past 12 years, basically), I sleep on the right-hand side of the bed. Lying on my right. It's partly habit (the Ex always insisted on sleeping on the left-hand side) and partly the fact that I can breathe more easily in that position - old nose injury, long story.
When I'm with Bear, because his arthritic hip requires him to sleep on his left side, HE takes the right-hand side of the bed, and I scoot over to the left... I definitely do not sleep as deeply or as well on that side, although I think most of that is attributable to me being ultra-careful not to jolt his hip.
I think 'habit' is far stronger than Feng Shui, which as far as I'm concerned is just a nice way of tidying up and putting away and de-cluttering a house. Feng Shui is terribly popular in New Zealand right now - load of old cobblers as far as I'm concerned, apart from the basic premise that a tidy, uncluttered environment does calm the mind and permit creative thought.
After all, what is 'habit' but the most efficient/suitable way of an individual doing something?
Advanced practitioners of this ancient art can actually leave a bed without disturbing THREE cats - one between the legs, one at the side, and one sharing the pillow - my daughter is a masterly exponent!

Also that, and the triplets (Yuki, Leia, and Spike) sortta don't give me much space to get off either side of the bed :P
