So, John Egbert has a disease... a texting disease. He is so inflicted with said ailing illness that he can't help but spread his goober texting germs to everyone he talks to. But because he wants to get along with everyone, he and I will maintain text-safety while still spreading his dorky goober germs throughout this magical island. (He is and will always be a goober. Alas, my apologies).
And here are some options you can take! ...But before that, a sample of his usual text quirk. Mm, samples...
first of all, he types everything in lowercase, all the time every time.
unless he wants to make a HUGE EMPHASIS on something!
but he will never forget to punctuate, often dragging them out like this "!!!!" or even letters like pchoooooooo! sometimes typing them out in 8's, because he is tight with vriska like that.
and as you can see, blue is his thing and will once in a while dish out an occasional side dish of emoticons, like so:

also, if you are acting kind of like a doofus, expect an
/EYEROLL or
shrug!!!
