Character Information
General
Canon Source: Homestuck; ms paint adventures
Canon Format: webcomic
Character's Name: John Egbert
Character's Age: 13
If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played.
๑ Previously, John was just your average kid with zero combat experience, though later on gains it through his various ventures in the kid's Sburb session. After battling prototyped monsters and getting stabbed a couple of times, I'd say he's fit enough to survive in the Port. He'll still need guidance from his friends to get himself out of a a sticky jam though. Not that he listens half of the time.
What form will your character's NV take?
๑ (
Cosbytop Computer ) - An alchemized computer once twice lost to him in The Land of Wind and Shade. This here, ladies and gentlemen, is the sweetest piece of hardware a young youth could ever covet. Decked in lobster red and the image of the man, Bill Cosby himself, no one could never go wrong when chumming it up with humans and trolls alike. And it shall surely be another sentimental reunion for John and his beloved comedian man.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
sylladex (
Array ) - A hammerspace storage system basically used to... store stuff. It's not a very special ability, and basically most everyone in Homestuck uses one at their disposal (even though one can basically just use their hands to pick up stuff). There are different kinds and versions of sylladexes, and John's by far has to be the most aggravating. Him and captchalogue don't agree sometimes.
the windy thing (
Heir of Breath ) - The specific mythological role John was born to take a part of, consisting of the elements wind and darkness. He is able to manipulate the wind (duh) creating either massive weather conditions like tornadoes or just to blow the clouds away. It also can be used to move objects, for instance, like a car. He'll have you know flying cars are one sweet ride.
god tier (
A Thing that Transcends the Echeladder ) - A bonus rank even above the very top of the Echeladder, one achieves immortality and a vast enhancement in one's mythological powers. Though John can still basically die, he will come back to life unless his death is either Heroic or Just. Heroic being he does that hero thing and Just meaning he got what was coming to him.
Weapons:
hammerkind (
Warhammer of Zillyhoo ) - A hammer specifically held by Uber Bunny, it was blown up to John's size and now wields it, occasionally wrapped around in his windy wind powers in battle. It appears to be the most powerful weapon in his possession by far, but it is not the strongest.
It is also too breathtakingly beautiful to be held by mere mortals. It is so beautiful John breaks into song at the divine sight.
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History: (
"i suddenly don't understand anything." )
Point in Canon: After the 3x smooch combo, and getting down to business with Karkat.
Character Personality:
There was none as brave a renegade such as him - tenacious and bound by the single wish to reunite with his family. In a Valjean-esque fashion, he was tough, he was fierce, not even a jail cell could contain his burning passion... The man called Cameron Poe (aka. the fabulous Nicholas Cage), one of the various free-spirited icons some kid adores to itty bitty nerdy microscopic pieces.
Though unlike the movies, ones the boy plasters all over his room like a B-rated cinematic shrine, his life foils the completely fun concept of adventurous. Yes, John surfs the internet through a downgraded browser, watches pretty shitty movies, and invests himself in the the complimentary profession as an amateur prankster. Indeed, life for him was pretty good, if not for the fact that his dad was plain old embarrassing, so he would take his sweet time to abscond from their usual confectionery skirmishes. A normal growing boy with a normal existence, steadily filling in his role as leader, while still acting like a silly but hopeful doofus along the way.

From the very start of their Sburb session, the title of leader automatically was placed on John's shoulders. He never understand why it was so, but his humble side remained steadfast, proclaiming that he was their friend, not their leader. THERE IS A BIG DIFFERENCE. Though no matter how much he protested, the title was still his to keep.
Likewise, he is not super smart like Rose or all-knowing like the others were, heck, he still never fully understands the whole game itself. And even if John denies it, just by his known habit of looking towards an optimistic solution to a nasty situation, makes him a natural leader. Though he is easily irritated at times, he can just as easily emit a calming effect when it matters, appeasing the exasperated Uber Bunny and Wayward Vagabond, even asking them to do an important task for him - unknowingly sucking in Courtyard Droll (the supposed enemy) into the mission, who too eagerly agreed. John also befriends Vriska Serket, the troll who originally threatened to kill him and is rather known among the others to be a little bit crazy. Some of the people he talks to may be weird or ominously magical, but that never stopped him from befriending them before!
In a sillyspeak spiritual sense, he is the supporting pillar of his friends, thoughtfully sending them birthday presents designated to each of what they truly needed. Dave to get out of Bro's shadow, Rose to get a damn new hobby instead of tinkering with grimdarkish hobbies (which actually happens later on), and for Jade to grow new pumpkins because clearly disappearing pumpkins were a great travesty. In turn, the gifts they send back to him create vital catalytic roles in their game session. Not that he knows about it. Plus, he is actually their lab daddy in reality! In a rather weird alternate reality, creating them in the future through genetically paradoxic green slime...
Did that even make any ounce of sense? Noooooooope.
๑ B E T H E P R A N K I N G M A S T E R
John's jokester side makes up a big part of his personality, mirroring his light-hearted and otherwise goofy nature. And carrying about an air of hilarity is evidentally an Egbert family thing - his Nana threw pies at Dad, Dad showered John with cake (with the occasional pie throwing), and John skillfully balances buckets full of gushers on a friend's door. He enjoys a good read out of one of his favorite books, "Colonel Sassacre's Daunting Text of Magical Frivolity and Practical Japery," using it as a guide to find inspiration for pulling pranks. Even at a younger age, he showed interest in playing cards, though he kind of sucked at it.
One of his beloved comedians being Bill Cosby, John tends to lean away from dry humor, while resolving to mischievous trickery if the opportunity comes his way. It is also a normal habit for him to reference one of his favorite movies while he is at it. If he chances upon something he likes, chances are he will go all out in expressing his love for it, no matter how seemingly embarrassing it may seem to others. Because it is totally cool in his book.
Ironically, despite being the pranking master, John can easily get pranked himself, who can and will believe someone just for the sake of believing them. This behavior has gotten him killed in an alternate timeline through Terezi's influence, but she seems to feel bad about it, so it is all good to him.

Dreams can be tricky things, but are essentially part of a person's subconscious, and his inner dream self expressed himself in a way John consciously would try to ignore. Though despite maintaining an optimistic front, he carries hidden self-esteem issues deduced from the
scribblings his dream self drew on the walls in his sleep. The way he shuns the title of leader possibly stems from the fact that he feels he is not competent enough to carry the burden, since he merely wants the ones he loves safe, and nothing else.
Though John can easily adapt to change, it's another thing for him to realize that something indeed has been altered in his life. Like his dead alternate self in the dream bubble, his subconscious tends to block out any alien and conflicting info if happens to clash against any of his inner doubt, until someone spells it out for him. But his natural ability to find the good in everything balances this out, making him a good friend, albeit still kind of a huge nerd. But that's probably another good thing about him too.
