I didn't actually read the preamble, I just went 'Windfic!' and dived in.

So of course I get to Riku and go ". . .this isn't the Riku I remember. Maybe he had a very interesting childhood?" and then I get to Sabre and go "Okay, this is definitely not the Sabre I remember".
