Unbeta'ed Bridge and Sky fic

So I had this scene in mind, a pretty small one mostly involving Bridge's gloves. I wrote about a page of it by hand before going to bed last night, and typed it up today. And then I had to keep writing beyond the end of the handwritten part, and it grew into this. Unedited and unbeta'ed; it's very much got the 'continuing stream of thought' feel

I love Bridge's 'ritual', having to go through and familiarize himself with every object. I don't think there's many fics about Bridge and inanimate things, usually we like to overload him on people. because we are a cruel bunch of fic writers and love to beat up on the poor boy *g*

Sky as the reminder of previous abuse? Now there's a different angle. Much like with overloading, some writers put Bridge in the situation of being beat up on in school, but to have that tied into Sky is a new one. Or is it? Not sure if I've seen a 'Sky beats Bridge' (not counting pron that is ;) fic, doesn't mean it's not out there somewhere. And having Bridge not liking Sky right off the bat is definitly a new twist.

hee. That made me chuckle. If B-Squad was ever in a situation where they had to lose all but one piece of clothing, Bridge would be the only not donning his undies. Lol

Thank you! ^_^ It makes me happy when people notice the little details in my fics because just about all of them are deliberate. I was personally amused by the underwear bit too, not that the situation described above was what I was thinking of when I wrote it ;) It certainly didn't cross my mind to have Bridge have to choose between his skivvies and his gloves...

::sighs happily:: Hmm Bridge angst. My dear you need to write more often (and I have to get off my arse and comment more often). Like dv said, I love the ritual and the giernomous box of gloves. So does Bridge have like gloves for special occasions? His formal uniform gloves? His work out gloves? His 'sexy time' gloves? Cause that would be awesome. :)

So since high school was a 'long time ago' for Bridge..how old do you think he is? :D I love how Bridge fluctuates between 17-21, depending on the author. And yay for badass!Sky, causing apprehension where ever he goes. :)

I got the image of a drawer full of gloves for Bridge a while back, since they're ever-present, and I saw them caked in mud in 'Confronted', and handling buttery toast in 'Dogged', and all sorts of other messy situations. I'm the sort who washes my hands religiously, so I can't imagine going through life with permanent gloves instead of soap and water. I'd probably change them every hour :P I do think Bridge has a few pairs of special occasion gloves--I'm thinking winter gloves for snow activities, and maybe a nicer pair of leather ones for formal events he'll never go to, and latex ones with good snap for doctor/patient roleplay lab projects

I liked this. &hearts This was an interesting take on Bridge's powers, that he needs to touch things and familiarize himself with them before he lives inside a new space, but it also makes a lot of sense. He can get information about things when he touches them, so I'm sure he'd not want to be overwhelmed.

Are you planning on writing a sequel, perhaps? ;)

...I loved it. probably the most realistic "meeting" story I've read for these two, I especially like the exposition on Bridge and his powers, touching everything, and all that. good stuff.
