First of all, I want to give my deepest thanks to everyone who donated to help fund the Plushie workshop. <333 The cost of the materials comes out of my pocket, so every little bit helps!

I hope everyone who came to the workshop had fun! Hosted by myself and laser-radiation, it was our pleasure to bring this workshop to you for the second year running ( Read more... )

Bryn, I loved the Plushie workshop!! I'm currently finishing up the plushie I started making there and it's so much fun. (I'll post a picture when I'm done, I'm sure!) I had to take him home because there wasn't any felt left for bodies or polyfill to stuff the bodies anyway, which is the only thing I disliked, but it seems like the workshop was really popular since all the basics were snapped up, so congrats! Otherwise you provided the perfect material for his clothes and I'm really pleased.

Anyway, thank you so much for posting these PDFs, as I think I would like to make more plushies in the future!

Do you have any basic tips or construction techniques you can share for creating the hair? I am at that step and am pondering where to sew and where to glue, etc.

Thank you so much for coming! :) We had some really good feedback these last two years, so I'm leaning towards bringing it back to Wincon 2013 - If I do, I'll be bringing a LOT more supplies, so we won't run out! :)

Usually the hair I make is somewhat two-dimentional, with a distinct 'front' and 'back', and are sewn down horizontally from 'ear' to 'ear'. You can see some examples of hairdos I've done here. I hope that helps! If you have pictures of the hair you're trying to do, I might be able to be a bit more helpful :)

This was my favourite! I really loved it and my Sansa will be finished one day! Thank you heaps for setting all this up, it really was rad.

Since I totally forgot while I was there, is there any way I can donate to your plushie fund for next year online? I really want to :3
