Very nice pics and interesting quotes. Grant's biographer Marc Elliot also supports the theory that they were a couple and today there's the believe that Grant was (or both were) at least bisexual. Of course it's sad that they never 'came out' but one shouldn't forget the times they lived in and that they were both born and brought up around 1900 - men who didn't want to be total outsiders couldn't afford to come out. What those two did was already pretty daring for the times.
Yep, I think they were very daring indeed. The red text was just ranting for the Supernatural guys. I wish they could be as brave as Cary/Randy, but it's not my place to say.
