I've heard about the Douglas before, still, Lord James' affection to his twin sister shocks me.
I knew Bosie's grandfather commited suicide, so I tried to find his reasons. The attempt was in vain but I accidentally learnt that his another grandfather was a sissy homosexual. It really surprises me 'cos Montgomery had such a great influence to Bosie and Francis' sexuality. I also heard that Queenberry, of course, hated his father-in-law for being gay.

Actually, I think Bosie was one of the "normal" individuals in his family. And I bet he believed so.
It's weird that the Douglas ladies behaved better than normal and had their own achievement. Perhaps the genetic problem was sex-linked.

In De Profundis, Oscar Wilde referred him as descending from the "mad, bad line" of an eccentric, dissolute, and sometimes self-destructive family.

I always thought that was a little bit harsh of Oscar, to be honest XD I mean, Oscar's father wasn't exactly the cleanest figure himself, being accused of rape on several occasions, etc. A little guilt by association there :\ Just because a family may be 'bad' doesn't mean a child might be.
Not that I'm saying Bosie was an angel; he was an asshole most of the time, but still, I think that must've been particularly hurtful for Bosie when he finally read it, to be generalized in with the rest of his seriously batshit crazy family whom he'd tried to distance himself from. But then again, Oscar was intending to hurt and spent two years in prison for him, so who knows |D It's so twisted.

Also, I love those pictures of the two brothers XD THIS IS PERFECTLY NORMAL SITTING IN MY BROTHER'S LAP, YES XD <3 It reminds me of an Oscar quote I read about Francis, where basically Oscar said Francis had ( ... )

Am I the only one who think Francis had the exactly same face as Bosie? Jude Law looks like Bosie, but Francis looked the SAME as his brother.

Being tortured in prison for almost 2 years, Oscar intended to hurt/blame Bosie when he wrote De Profundis -- basically the whole letter was denouncing Bosie for his brainlessness, heartlessness and impediment to Oscar's working, which was not true -- so I think Oscar's slap was reasonable.

Yeah, I believe that Bosie thought his carpriousness temerarity were totally normal and acceptable.

No, I think he does look like him, but I think Bosie does look more 'delicate' than Francis, if I get what I mean. Francis to me seems to have a more weighted face.

Trudat XD

Maybe:) They looked like a pair of twins to me in the photo. And I completely agree with you about the "sitting on my bro's lap" pose. :D

Hi. I wonder how did you find this entry.

Francis and Bosie look almost identical in these pictures.
