We took our tree down today.
It is swiftly done, without the ceremony and pleasure of the event a few weeks ago. Then we had all the family in the room, carols actually were playing, and tea was being made. Ornaments were taken out of the boxes and exclaimed over: Do you remember? Wasn't that a lovely Christmas?

I'd like to think that the kids will hold onto their ornaments and then pass them on. Some of my favourite childhood memories are of ornaments my grandmothers both had. My mother has them now, and I still love them.
