Ah it can't be the end already?! But yay for the promise of an extra schmoopy epilogue!!
But such an ending!! I wanted to hug and cheer for Jeff all at the same time. Go Jeff!!! And Noah's reaction was just spot on... it was so him!
Jeff is such an excellent character and you've developed their story so well that I'm so happy you have them together here at the end. They have both come a long way and they deserve it. Go Carter and Solo! And knowing that Luke is happy too and that he had a hand in getting Jeff an apartment put an extra shine on the wonderful ending.
Thank you so much! I'm glad you feel that everyone stayed true to character. Luke offering a place to live felt like such a Luke thing to do - impulsive and generous and big-hearted. And I think, once the smoke cleared, Luke and Noah would genuinely want each other to be happy.
Jeff was pretty sneaky, too, telling Noah about the book. He knew Noah wouldn't feel comfortable having Jeff quit his job to take care of him. But Jeff needing Noah to help him get him through writing the book? That's a different story. Silly Noah!
Thanks for sticking with the story! I'm really looking forward to writing the extra-happy-ending epilogue.
I've started reading this story late in the game, so firstly, forgive me for not having commented on previous chapters and secondly, forgive me for my forthcoming verbosity since I want to comment on the story as a whole
( ... )
That explanation really does help, so thank you for taking the time to give it. I do wish that explanation had somehow made its way into the story somewhere, since without knowing there was truly no genuine malice intended on Luke's part, I think a little more negative shadow is cast over him throughout the story than he probably deserves. But I'm a fic writer myself, so I also definitely understand trying to write a scene or conversation and finding it coming across as forced.
Thanks again and you're very welcome for the comments!
This story has been such a joy! What a great escape from real life! Your characters (and I mean yours as you have a wonderful way of making up your own as well as adapting those from ATWT) just jump out from the page/screen and I spend my life waiting in anticipating for the next thrilling chapter! And even though you make us wait in agony, it's always ALWAYS worth it! I'm really going to miss this Noah but especially the amazing Jeff who we all came to love despite our usual dedicating to Nuke endgame.. Can't wait for the final chapter and congratulations on finishing it!
