What you have described in a "nutshell" is exactly what I'd like to do. Your clients seem to have many of the same needs as my current students.
I wonder if I would go back to teaching after I finished my degree. A part of me thinks that I would. I do not know if I would go back to the comprehensive schools of Newark though. Instead I think I would go to a charter school where it's a given that my colleagues, administration and family are all collaborating towards student success.
That way, as a teacher, during class time...all I have to do is teach my well prepared lesson to open and willing students. Their needs have been tended to, and I am putting finishing touches helping to make sure they have as many options in life as possible.
Lol...I guess I could also ...just do that now. I declined a job as a reading teacher, refuse to interview for teaching positions even within the charters. I'll be back. I know I will.
