This evening I have been mostly sewing.

Name labels into Harry's uniform (2 sweatshirts, 2 polo shirts, 1 pair of trousers, 1 blazer, 1 waterproof coat, 1 cap), and elastic into ballet shoes!

My fingers hurt :(

And there is still more to do as some of his uniform is on order :(

I am dreading what it will be like in a few years time when I have two lots of school uniforms to label!!!!

I bought a laundry marker pen from WHSmiths & wrote Kate's name in her things :)

Yeah, I could have done that I guess. Though not all of the items have somewhere to write on. Guess I was being all enthusiastic. :)

poor fingers. just buy the iron on labels! that's what i always had and they worked great.

We tried iron on ones before and they just came right off and I know a lot of schools don't like you to use them for that reason. The only thing of Harry's that still has an iron on label is one of his bags and that is still there because it is stitched on as well as ironed.

I have to admit to liking the look of the woven sew in labels as well.

How odd, the iron-ons we used are still securely fastened to this day! But i agree that sewn on are kind nice looking, more traditional or something. :D

Perhaps it is the image I still have in my mind of my mum sewing all of our labels onto the new school uniform at the start of the school year :)
