Suspiciousness all up on my street

Jan 25, 2012 15:51

When I left to go get my daughter from school today there was this weird black car with a light bar on top. When I say 'black' I mean more of a solid primer blacked out car to make the vehicle look nondescript. I followed it for a bit and it would stop and get out of the car and mess with people's yards. They had what looked like a metal ( Read more... )

No one has entered. They have had almost two weeks to do so. I started to write a 'enter or we won't have banners' post yesterday but felt it was too bitchy. I think I am going to end up scrapping the challenge and scrapping the banners.

Strange about the car and metal detector. Hm.

On a different note, my banner making challenge at tbstills isn't going over well. No one except one person has made banners. Would it be really rude to tell people that they won't get banners if they don't step up and enter this challenge? That I am tired of making them banners when most don't even say thank you?? Because really. I'm about there.

I'm really sorry about this. This is why I left the community. Lack of interest in challenges, lack of participation in voting, just lack of everything. I was annoyed that people had time to make icons and post them, but they couldn't be bothered to take one minute to help out with voting.

I've been thinking about starting a Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Cover community. Kind of like romance_stills. But I would need to find a bunch of graphics first. Book covers without all the text on them, etc. I just have too many other things going on right now to put any effort into at the moment.

I think that I am just not going to make banners. I really haven't felt very inspired to make banners and am only getting back into even wanting to icon for fun. It really sucks all the creativity out of you when you have to power out winner banners for people that don't even seem to care. Bleh.

Yep. If they aren't thanking you for them then don't bother. I have not felt inspired to make icons lately either. I think I just need a break. Maybe do something different. I was thinking about tumblr graphics. They are larger and I like that. I can always make icons from the tumblr graphics I make.

I do not understand people who don't even have the courtesy to say thank you. It takes time to make banners. It takes 2 seconds to say thank you and show you that it's appreciated. It's really just basic common courtesy. I go through it every round when half the people don't bother to say thank you for top point earner banners I make.

It makes me cranky. It's so simple to say thank you. I get missing a post or two, but not every one. I think I am going to just stop making banners for people.

Exactly. Everyone misses things occasionally, but every single time? No. And in my case, it's not like people are going to miss a final results post that has 40+ banners in it. Now, I admittedly don't have time to respond to every person that does say thank you, but I do still read comments and it makes me appreciate those that take the time to say thank you for my taking the time (which is a great deal of time) to make them. Can't blame you for not wanting to make them anymore, either.

It was weird! I took pictures of their car. It was odd. But I haven't seen them since. :)
