i know i don't really know you though i've recently joined your lyme group which is really so beautiful. thankyou for creating that. just wanted to say i read your userinfo and you inspire me. hope you feel a bit better soon.
I found out about your journal and your struggle with Lyme disease through temptress, who is a very close friend of mine.
I'm currently in medical school, and Lyme disease was a topic I was assigned to research for a discussion group class. I was wondering if you mind me printing your 2003 letter and showing it to a few of my classmates? I have easy access to journals, research, etc., but these have a tendency to dehumanize the experience of living with a disease. I think your letter is extremely moving and would be so beneficial to impressionable and excited doctors-to-be.
Hi there! Lena was the only one that would come and visit me in the hospital; she's been a great friend to have -- so of course you may use my Open Letter. :) Please feel free to make as many copies as you want. And if I can help in any other way (a lot has happened since the publishing of that letter -- it was used by Pat Smith, Pres. of the Lyme Disease Associasion, as evidence that we need to change the treatment protocol) ..just let me know.
Plus.. back in 2003 in that hospital visit where the PICC Line was taken out (i.e. not the time Lena came to visit me at UWMC) -- I had 30 students a day crowding into my room asking me questions about what it's like to live with so many complications and secondary diseases/conditions on top of a multi-systemic disease.
The students really seem to want to learn about Lyme disease, Chronic Lyme and the differences/similarities -- not to mention the different courses of action for treatment depending on what stage of Lyme the person is in. If you ever need to talk more (I found a lot of

Thanks so much! I also perused the memories of lyme_disease and read a bunch of the articles you had posted throughout. It was a great addition to some of the journal articles I found doing database searches. I can't believe people compare syphilus and Lyme (I love the Snoopy plane comparison!) - other than the very very basic classification, they're so different

hi, you commented to my post on Living D/s, and I'd like it if you would add me so that I can read your posts, I'd like to get to know you, and as soon as I correct my post lock settings so that I CAN add people other than my Master and husband, I'll add you back. ^_^ Hope to talk to you sometime soon
Hi, sorry i never said thank you for that email. i changed my email address around that same time and lost a lot of stuff somehow in the transferring. i was just reading your info and wondered if i could add you? i am home all day most days too so thought it might be nice to try to make some new friends.
Hey, willo. I caught some of your posts on the living ds community and liked what you had to say a lot. I'd love to read more if you'd consider adding me. :)
Well, it certainly doesn't bother me, as it's a part of our dynamic, as well. :) Not the main reason for my request. I just liked the way you wrote. But I'm definitely not offended by it and would, most likely, enjoy reading how it works for others.
I'm a bit of a crazy writer -- some of this, some of that, and a pinch of those other things when I feel like it. heh
I asked only because I have a few filters and I'd rather not assume -- there are some people on my flist that are not into reading anything about alternate lifestyles, they friended me because I run a Lyme disease support group. So I keep the lifestyle stuff under filters. (Just as I do when I write about my health.) I also keep AgePlay under a more restricted filter, than say, my general D/s one.
Oh bother, I'm blithering. lol I look forward to getting to know you!
