Don't be phased by a long wait to hear about a Museum job....When I moved to New York City, I was up for a job at the American Museum of Natural History. I was working through an agency, so I had never yet met anyone there...I believe it took a week to get in for an interview, and 2-3 weeks after that before I heard anything. But I did get the job, I worked there for almost 4 years, and it was the best office I've ever worked in! Later I dealt with hiring in our office...it's a slow process because people are generally very busy, budgets have to go through multi-level approval, etc.
One thing I really miss about that job: with my employee badge, I got in free to museums everywhere I went--the Field, the Dublin National, the Met...it was a great perk. For a geek like me.
