And while shaking up people's regional assumptions is always a good thing, I'm finding it bizarre that I can get married in Des Moines but not San Francisco.

Blech! What makes it appallingly disgusting to me is that so-called Xian denominations swooped into a state not their own and funded this hatred initiative. Then the court makes a political ruling that is almost as appalling - depriving some people of a civil right while allowing others, similarly situated, that same right. Hmmm, gee, there's a constitutional argument there.
This should go to the Supreme Court when the balance is better - just think there's a split among the circuits....
But God forBID we lose our guns!

I was thinking about this when I saw on MSNBC (love Rachel M, LOL!!) that the two attorneys on both sides of Bush v. Gore are joining forces to file a lawsuit in federal court, stating that Prop 8 is inherently unconstitutional (no duh):)
For all the evil, revolting hatred there is, I think many are weary of all the nonsense and believe in same-sex marriage. C'mon - how many 100 percent "straight" families really exist? There's at least one gay child among all the cousins in our large family.
Miss you too - you would have loved the mediation we had 5/15. Your colleague did a beautiful job in what could have been a literal three-ring circus:)
