Here's my most ambitious amigurumi project yet.  I've been working on it for a few weeks, and finished it late last night.  It's for my friend G, who just turned two years old and is fond of simians.  I give you. . . . Merv the Monkey!

Thanks! She's luckier than you know -- her mom is a knitter, and she also has a knitting great-aunt, so she has lots of terrific stuff.

LOVE him! I also like the wry expression, very cool!

It's the fiddly nature of sewing things up that keeps me from knitting/ crocheting toys or sweaters or anything like that... I just dislike it intensely. I know how to do it, but... shudder. HATE IT. Luckily, other people don't, so I get to live vicariously through ya'll :D

You might like making sweaters a la Elizabeth Zimmerman, in the round with little or no sewing.
