Willow was awake and currently having a conversation with a small person. A small person who couldn't really talk back, but was doing his best via crying

Edmund had been close enough to hear the crying and then hear it stop, so he knew it was safe to knock gently at the door and not risk waking anyone up.

"Come in," Willow said, after checking to be sure that the knocking hadn't startled Alex.

He carefully opened the door and looked around, settling on Willow and Alex. "Is now a good time?"

"Much better than a few minutes ago," Willow said. She gently rubbed Alex's back. "He had strong opinions about personal boundaries, but thankfully we've fixed that."
