I do not see the point of sharing a room if one never comes in contact with the other. I can only assume that this is a common issue, and one that should be dealt with.

There are for now. But it looks like they're gonna keep pickin' people up as we go. And trust me, it'd be a heck of a lot harder to get people to start sharing rooms later on.
