It was late into the evening, and Alcuin and Hannibal were walking to Hannibal's home from a restaurant where they'd had a late meal and then overstayed their welcome drinking coffee and talking. Hannibal had never been drawn to religious fanaticism. When he was younger and had not yet lost his faith, he learned that there was a special layer in Hell reserved for the narrow-minded and the religiously fanatic. With time he lost faith and instead found a special corner in his basement for this lowest form of mankind.

"Your friend?" He laughed in Hannibal's face. "You can go to hell too, faggot." He waved the Bible right in Hannibal's face.

"Please," he asked kindly, but still continued to move towards the man. The Bible didn't even cause him to blink. "I'm sure there's something in the about prejudice." The man had to take another step back. It was likely he didn't even notice.

The man was nearly backed into the alley behind them at this point. He seemed oblivious, too fired up on his own righteousness (and, Alcuin thought, perhaps some other substance).

"Oh forgive me," he laughed, "please go to hell, faggot, and take your whore with you. That's not prejudice, that's god's will." He craned his neck to look over Hannibal's shoulder at Alcuin, waving the Bible at him. "You hear that? You're going to burn."
