When he opened the door after a knock, he smiled and opened it wider. "What a pleasant surprise, Nikola."

"I brought a bottle," Nikola replied with a rather self-satisfied little smirk. Nikola hadn't even thought about the council elections, his mind had been preoccupied with his work and his class when the opportunity just landed in his lap. They wanted him to run for council office, Nikola was going to accept of course but he had other plans in motion just in case. "To celebrate the good news."

Alcuin looked confused as he closed the door behind them. "... what good news?" He wondered for a moment if he'd found out about Imriel, but it seemed unlikely.

"My nomination for council," Nikola replied, placing the wine down on the table and glancing around. Something was off, he might not have Will's careful attention for detail but there was something different. Nikola paused, looking thoughtful before uncorking the wine. "And yours."
