Yes! The knight effect was pretty great.

Basically, you said everything that I wanted to say in my post about it.

I liked how they didn't focus on Harry and Ginny, especially since I've always felt that film!Ginny was really, really boring. But I did enjoy their kiss in this movie.

I think one of the reasons I didn't like how much of Dumbledore's story they left out was because of how much it tied into the Hallows and was one of the reasons that Hallows were so important. But it definitely would have slowed the movie down, and casual audiences probably wouldn't have appreciated that at all.

I've felt that Ginny had some interesting aspects to her, like being the only girl in a family with six older brothers or being controlled by a dark wizard when she was only 11, but there wasn't enough attention paid to them to make her a really investing character and she ends up being just sort of there.

I think my favorite part of the Harry Potter series is that it has this huge cast of characters that all have a story to tell, but that's also one of its flaws, because you want to really get to know these people and their histories but there's no place to put all that information and some characters end up feeling underdeveloped.

Hopefully we'll get some cool backstories in Pottermore. I'm most excited to hear about how Vernon and Petunia met, I'd love to see the scene where she has to tell him that her sister is a witch.
