The memorial for Sam's dad was really lovely. They held it in the subdivision's common area, a big patch of grass and trees right across from their house, and everyone sat on lawn chairs and blankets. There were a lot of people dressed up, but just as many in jeans and t-shirts. His band had all their equipment set up at the front, and his scooter

Sounds like a good memorial, even if it was a little sad. There's something about ukulele's that make songs sound so sad though.

I'm glad Sam and her family seem to be doing ok. It's tough enough to lose someone without it being near a holiday that celebrates that person, y'know?

His birthday is just a few days before Christmas. I hope everyone will get through that okay too. :/
