That really bugs me that they're doing that. I don't know why they can't possibly imagine that people might have multiple accounts for different purposes like personal, work, fandom, etc.

But see, if they were all Google accounts to begin with, there wouldn't have been any problem! *eyeroll*

Monopoly strikes? I'm sorry you had that fuss and inconvenience.

And of course in their minds they're making things more streamlined and convenient, and for users from this point on (or for those who've always just been in Gmail without another domain involved), it is. In some ways, it will be for me as well.

It's just that, having used them almost since Gmail began, the adjustment isn't as smooth for me as I'm sure they assume it must be for everyone.

This week is particularly hairy, but I still managed to get it all straightened out, so. :-}

I HATE the "streamlining" of Google's various branches. My YouTube account is under a Gmail addy that I don't want it to be under, but they won't let me change it to a different Gmail addy. And I do NOT want to have to go through and recreate the whole YT account under the correct Gmail addy. *sighs*

Ugh. I don't understand why it won't let you change? What a pain.

I'll have to try it again, but the last time I tried, it said that my YT account was already attached to a Gmail addy, so I couldn't change it to a different Gmail addy. And I was frustrated and said "Screw it", but haven't tried again since.

ETA :: I just checked and was able to do it after searching and finding this FAQ. *mutters darkly*

Because that's totally intuitive. *eyeroll* Glad you were able to do it, though!

Ugh. I'm lucky enough that my optimum setup involves only logging into email on one. Everything else is forwarding, multiple From: addresses, and labels. But it sucks that you don't have the option to do it your way without working in two different browsers. :-P
