Finally. It's all over now. The Wildwoses of the Woods are tired. And still recovering. But I will attempt a recap. And what a great year it was, and here are few of the folks that made it so.
Queen of the Drench Wenches. That is, she has worked in the dunk tank for over 15 years and is the most amazing thing to watch. I have seen her cause drunken young men vast considerations and get them to lay down lots of money just for the pleasure of dunking her. She manages to insult in creative and interesting ways. Outside of the tank she is a true "Angel" and talented musician.
Hear, Hear. Always a pleasure to see when she's in the cage, and not just 'cause she's beautiful. :)
I adore OP. Listening to "In A Garden So Green" (my absolute fav) got me through four hours of implant surgery. Took me to a whole 'nother place. I thank medievalmuse for turning me on to him last year.
Great job, son. I like the picture of the four of you taken at Fairecon. The last picture on that journal entry. Loved seeing the pictures of Faire. MOM
I really enjoy your posts about the Faire! There is nothing like that here, the few faires we have done were single weekend bring-your-own-booth affairs. You are very lucky to have such a great event just three hours away! Some time I will have to bug you with questions though, as I am curious about some of the technicalities of vending at that kind of show, especially as a parent. Also really enjoyed your Faeriecon post by the way! I am considering bringing Goblin Art to Faeriecon eventually, (especially as Oregon just lost Faerieworlds), but we'll have to see if next year is still too soon for traveling to a distant event with the boy. But it would be lovely to meet you properly, and see your fabulous masks in person!
I see there is no mention of it on the official website or forum. It might have been an announcement at the end of the 2007 festival? Or it was mentioned in one of the e-newsletters perhaps? But I had heard that this year's Faerieworlds was the last event in Oregon, and that they would be moving the event back to Arizona for 2009. But if other folks with their ears close to the ground have not heard more details since, perhaps that information is out of date? It would be lovely if they decided to stay in Oregon another year at least. Fingers and toes crossed that is the case, (and I'll throw in a wish for a venue that allows on-site camping for vendors!) Lovely costume, by the way!
i did hear a rumour of a Faerieworlds event in Feb 2009, in AZ i think? i guess we will see, im sure they will make an announcement on the site soon...
