The Good: Yesterday when I got to work, I got a "Perks" email in my box stating that, since our company has an exclusive contract with Microsoft, we had an opportunity to get the new Office 2013 for a super-extra-reduced price (seriously, so cheap even I could afford it). So I got it. No more excuses for not doing any writing. So far it's actually ( Read more... )

Ah, I'll have to check the rest of my mail. I probably got the rejection, too (I assume it was email?).

Thanks!

I'm similarly upset with the weather. Basically, what y'all get, we get a day or two later. It's going to hit near 80 today. We had to turn the AC back on, it's that hot in our house during the day at the moment.

I've always wanted to go to one of those operas-at-the-movies thing. I just want to find one that I know I'll want to sit through three hours for (do you get intermission like seeing it live?).

Mom had so many issues when securing her job at the college. It's part of the DeVry system which is based somewhere in the upper-midwest, so she had to spend time on the phone with idiots thousands of miles away--she even did an interview via the phone with the head of the Chamberlain schools or something.

Yay for cheap Word 2013! I had to spend that $120ish to get the student Office 2010 last semester. You're totally right about the Word/WordPerfect thing. It does the same thing when saving Word docs as WordPerfect ones. Stupid competing technology.

And today it's 64 and rainy. Go figure!

It IS seeing it live, just from miles away -- so yes, there's an intermission. I don't know if they keep the intermission in the encore, but we'll see.

So far I don't hate having Office 2013, which I know is faint praise, but that's pretty good for a Microsoft product!
