Today we FINALLY went out for Texas BBQ! We went to a place called Hard Eight, which was very good, but not the best I've ever had -- and I have to admit, I was rather disappointed in the choice of music in a Texas Roadhouse BBQ joint-- plain Nashville pop, the usual boring crap. I'd been lead to believe that in Texas, Texas music was king. Maybe

If Austin was closer to Dallas I'd have taken the car and gone down there, but it would have taken FAR too long with too little sleep, especially with the snooze-fest days I was working through!

Austin > Dallas, for sure. I agree with sillymagpie about County Line, but I'd also recommend The Salt Lick, which is EVEN BETTER. Unfortunately, BBQ's one of those hit-or-miss things. And Dallas is all about the country pop. Austin is far more true to the Texas roots. Because Austin is AWESOME.

Yay! for going home, and have a safe flight back!
