I have been thinking for the last few days, as I listen to many friends and acquaintances say how horrible 2011 was for them, and I realized it was a pretty sweet year for me. (Sorry!) Sure, it started with some stress concerning my job, but that was ironed out by mid-April, and I moved into a position where the management staff likes and

Oh no! Don't feel guilty! I'm glad you had a happy year (and I had happy moments, too - like meeting you guys). I hope 2012 is even happier for you, as well as just plain happy for me and the others who had a lousy 2011, that's all.

I shall, then! I'm hoping for a great year for all -- it's the Year of the Dragon, and even-numbered years are often very good to me. Besides, it'll mark the end of the campaigning season for a year or so... :D

Meeting you was indeed one of those highlights, but I include it all in the "I went to New York" statement!

I know what you mean! 2011 was a great year for me... Among other things, I got to see two different space shuttles launch!!! I discovered a deep and abiding love for roller coasters! I got to ride the new Star Tours before it officially opened! I'm just hoping 2012 can live up to it...
