This time about things beyond my control. This story made me all kinds of furious. I mean, if the guy had been cited before for animal violations, and had spent time in prison, WHY did they not confiscate the animals and get them placed in a proper wildlife preserve or a zoo or other specialized shelter? EIGHTEEN tigers had to be put down,

That thing in Ohio makes me insane. But apparently their state laws are some of the most lax (laxest?) in the country when it comes to keeping exotics, so the cops couldn't have shut him down. But the fact that no one seems to have heard of a tranq gun, that infuriates me.

Yeah, that, too. Especially since freakin' Jack Hanna was there helping -- you'd think he'd have done SOMETHING to save some of them (the lame "well, we tranqued one and it kept on coming" story didn't make me any happier).

But even with the lax laws, the guy had been cited numerous times for animal mistreatment. COME ON. *gripe gripe gripe gripe*

they DID tranq them but the tranqs failed.

And it's not just exotics, we're the laxest state for child sex slavery. Want to diddle a child? Head for the Cleveland/Toledo areas especially.

And you'll get more time for beating someone's dog than you will for beating your wife in this state. I love living here. gah

Ahhhh, I'd read a couple of articles earlier in the day and couldn't bear to read another, so I didn't realized they'd ended up trying tranqs. And I have to admit, I wouldn't have guessed Ohio if you'd asked me who I thought had the most lax child molestation laws. I'm not sure where I would have guessed, just not Ohio.

We've stayed at the Copper Queen -- awesome place (really beautiful; and Bisbee itself is nifty). Didn't see any ghosts, though (boo).
