Last night I saw something that I never had before, and I hope others will not have to see. I saw a baby that was going to die.

As some of my f-listers know, I volunteer at a children's hospice ... the hospice has several different levels of care; transition care (to help a family transition from an extended hospital stay to going home), pain ( Read more... )

wow, Jinxy, That's just sad. It puts life in a different perspective.
I am glad you help out. I don't think I would be able to do it because
I would probably end up crying most of the time lol. I think it is so
awesome that you are helping with the kids.

*hugs*

Thanks for the hug *hugs back* there are times I get choked up and weepy, but for the most part, it is actually a very positive experience. These kids are facing so much but with so much strength, humour and life that you can't help but smile from the inside out the whole time ...

*gives hugs too* There is a lot of pain, but then there is alot of love and life involved too, so that really helps ... when you see so much strength amid so much hardship, you can't help but be touched in a positive way ... I am still saddened by the little baby, and the memory will always get me choked up, but seeing how everyone comes together really helps...

And big hugs to you for volunteering at the children's hospitals ***huggggssss***

You volunteers and nurses are a very special kind of angel, jinx. Just heartbreaking. That you know the baby's going to die.

aww, thanks for the kind words ...

It is heartbreaking and I can't help but think, if it affects me this much, and I only knew the baby for a few minutes, how is the family coping? It puts things in perspective, that's for sure.
