I just ate my very first pluot, and I have to say, I was not impressed. Maybe it wasn't ripe enough? It wasn't local; I don't suppose any local farms around here grow pluots? I wanted to like it, but it was just sort of bland. So sad ( Read more... )

i have never had a pluot, but i don't like plums usually, unless they are pickled or in ume paste.

how are you? and seriously, where DID the summer go?

I don't usually like plums either, but I also can't remember the last time I tried one, and I thought it might be one of those weird childhood food aversions (like strawberries!) of which adulthood has cured me. But perhaps not.

I'm OK, been feeling a little down this week due to some stupid boy stuff, but mostly truckin' along. How are you?

things are good. i am still in flux about where to go and what to do next. i turned down another job, which was hopefully not foolish. i have yet another interview next week in a large city, which is cool, but i am tempted to see what develops here with my current situation, as my department really wants to keep me.

so...if anyone tells you librarian jobs are hard to get, they are lying. but it is hard to get the RIGHT library gig.

aversion to strawberries, that is tragic! i am glad you are fixed :)

Pluots are overrated, I think. Not so exciting! Ptown, otoh - awesome fall trip plan. Thumbs up!
