What a glorious weekend. We took West to the Franklin Park Zoo on Saturday, and it was exactly as fun and whimsical as I'd hoped! He had a fantastic time and was smiley and non-fussy the entire time, it was bright and sunny, and he turned up the cute dial past 100. He went absolutely bonkers for the alligator, I think seeing one in real life ( Read more... )

It was shockingly easy. I have heard good things about this custom dress website: http://www.eshakti.com/default.aspx, was thinking of giving it a try if I couldn't find anything easily in person.

Oh, interesting! I am really wary about buying clothes without trying them on, but I may give this a try if I don't have luck elsewhere. Thanks!

What a cutie!

No matter what animal you ask about, Parker says 'moooo.' He knew woof and meow ages ago but every animal is now a cow. It's so flipping cute!

It must have been nice to drop West off and have some adult time on Monday.

That's adorable! West thinks every color is yellow.

OMG, so nice! Babysitters around here are so expensive we just don't get sitters often (I'm sure they're probably even more expensive where you are!), so when daycare is open on work holidays we take full advantage.

We've never had a babysitter other than our moms so I don't even know how much it costs!

Do you go out after West goes to bed for the night when you have a sitter? I don't even know how that would work!

We tried that once (going out after he went to bed) and it didn't work super well, but that was back when he was a very bad sleeper (as opposed to just being a not-great sleeper now). We usually go out around 6-ish, so he will have eaten dinner and I get him jammied before leaving, the sitter just has to entertain him quietly for an hour, read him his bedtime stories, and put him to bed. This time we left at 4, so the sitter had to give him dinner, entertain him more, and do the whole jammies/diaper/stories bedtime routine. It seemed to work out fine, amazingly enough. He actually goes to sleep really well for sitters now, even if they are total strangers. We've had good luck with Sittercity.com and now we have a couple of Endicott College students we can use. Though even the college students are charging $12/hour, so it's not something we can do that often.
