I started a comm for my writing!

flwrsinthefield will be a place where I will post my stories and poems! I don't plan on locking the entries at this point, so feel free to join or watch the community.

Though I have not done it yet, I do believe I will be removing any stories I've posted here on my personal journal and they will be available at flwrsinthefieldI've already made a welcome post and I even posted ( Read more... )

Cool! Now I have a question, since you're so experienced at these, how the heck do I make the profile for the comm show up instead of my personal one? I am not finding my way around very well, even with the help pages.

I should clarify - I want to edit the comm profile, keeps taking me to my personal one.

Not a problem! You know when you first come to LJ and you're on the "home" page? The links across the top say Home, Journal, Profile, Friends, Communities, etc? Click on Communities (not any of the 3 drop down links) and you'll be taken to Manage Communities. Whatever comm profile you want to edit, you'll see the links next to it that says [Post], [Account], [Profile], etc. Click [Profile] and you'll be taken to the Edit Profile page and it won't be your own personal profile, it will be the community profile. :D

Next question - is there any way to customize the invites, so I can put some sort of explanation in there? I sent one, but it just did it, before I had a chance to even see what it said!

This is something I have never tried to do (customize the invites) so I'm not sure of this one. As far as I know, when you send it, it just says something to the effect of so-in-so invited you to be a part of such-and-such community. It then gives the person a chance to accept or decline the invite.
